After alot of looking I finally purchased a 2001 Suzuki Savage with 1400 miles on it. Practically new. I am enjoying it a whole bunch. Have put about 400 miles on it in a little over a month. The color is that light blue/silver color. I also purchased a windshield from National Cycle. It was a bear to get on right but finally got it.
The only thing I am concerned about is that I am a mechanical nightmare and I am now looking over past posts about oil leaks and side plates falling off.
I didn't purchase any extended warrantee with the bike as it seemed really expensive at the time but now I am wondering if I screwed up. Too late now I guess.
It is scheduled to go to a good local dealer for a complete oil change and check over. I don't know when the previous owner did it last so I am just going to do it to start out fresh. My local dealer has a 2 week waiting list on service. Busy busy busy.
Anyway, Like the bike but would like some reasurance that it isn't going to be a nightmare to maintain.
